Two gunmen open fire on mourners at a church funeral in Jordan's Karak, killing at least six people
The attackers arrived by car in the village of Hamoud and began shooting inside the packed church before fleeing. Mourner Khaled Burqan said the pair, armed with a rifle and a pistol, kept firing for several minutes. Government spokesman Mohammad al-Momani said security forces have been deployed. No one has claimed responsibility, and the motive is unknown.
Tolls differ: state media reported seven dead, while another count gives six dead and 28 injured.
Christians make up about 2 percent of Jordan's population but hold guaranteed parliamentary seats.
In 2016, Islamic State militants killed 10 people in a shooting rampage around Karak.
