Two Iranian men who arrived illegally on small boats will stand trial over alleged Manchester synagogue bomb plot

Salam Ahmadyan, 36, of Liverpool, and Rahman Salehi, 34, of Salford, face charges that include obtaining instructions for constructing a chlorine bomb. Prosecutors allege they were directed by an Iranian national most likely operating inside Iran. The pair are accused of carrying out reconnaissance at Heaton Park Synagogue and the Jewish Museum in Cheetham Hill. Both deny preparing terrorist acts.

Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby were killed at Heaton Park Synagogue last October.

Their five-week trial is set for 15 June 2027 at Manchester Crown Court.

Both were arrested in Manchester on 20 September and remain in custody.
