Two men are arrested on suspicion of murdering a footballer, 26, who had scored his first club goal days earlier
Ezekiel Williams, 26, whose former club Kettering Town remembered him as a 'talented, kind, and truly inspirational individual who had his faith at the forefront of his heart'.
Ezekiel Williams, a Hendon FC midfielder from London, was taken to hospital following an assault on Midsummer Boulevard in Milton Keynes in the early hours of Sunday November 1 and died on Monday. Thames Valley Police's Major Crime Unit is leading the investigation, with three Luton men — aged 21, 28, and 30 — now held in custody.
Williams had signed for Hendon FC in September and, just ten days before his death, scored his first goal for the club in a match against Jersey Bulls.
Hendon FC paid tribute to him as a 'humble, unassuming and generous individual with a razor-sharp wit' and called off Wednesday's London Senior Cup tie against Woodford Town out of respect.
Kettering Town, among his former clubs, remembered Williams as a 'talented, kind, and truly inspirational individual who had his faith at the forefront of his heart'.
