Two men are jailed for 18 years each after a 'disrespect' shoot-out outside a Birmingham nightclub hit a food seller

Garth Pantry, a jerk chicken seller, needed surgery for a partially collapsed lung after one bullet tore through Kimani Durrell-Smith's shoulder and into his. Aaron Nubie had returned to FJ Lounge in Aston armed and intent on avenging perceived 'disrespect', Judge Andrew Smith KC said. Both men opened fire within a fraction of a second. They were sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday.

Aaron Nubie, defending himself in court, insisted the shooting was 'a form of self-defence'.

Nubie arrived at hospital shot in the neck and hand, claiming no memory why.

Garth Pantry says he suffers sleepless nights and has not worked since.
