Two men are rearrested on suspicion of helping Iranian intelligence as police say Iran is 'highly likely' behind RAF Fairford plot

The pair, a 24-year-old Briton and a 25-year-old dual UK-Iranian national, both live in the Borough of Westminster. Both had been released on bail after their first arrests on September 27 and October 1. They are now being held over alleged offences under Section 3 of the National Security Act. Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor said officers were still probing the 'ambition' behind Tehran's role.

Armed police swooped on three vans near the Gloucestershire base, recovering petrol but no bombs.

The US Air Force pulled all its B-1 bombers out of RAF Fairford after the scare.

A local farmer said she saw hooded, masked men running into woods near the base.
