Two men wanted over the rape of a girl, 13, in east London vanished on the SAME DAY police appealed

Showkoth Ahmed, 31, and Jahidul Hassan Jaigirdar, 34, both Bangladeshi nationals with links to Tower Hamlets, are being urgently hunted by the Metropolitan Police over the rape of a 13-year-old girl in Weavers Fields, Bethnal Green, in August 2024. The victim told police two men led her from Whitechapel Road into the park where she was attacked, before a member of the public found and helped her. Detectives carried out more than two years of enquiries — including CCTV review and forensic examination — before naming the pair.

Both men are believed to have fled on September 18, the exact day police went public with an appeal for information.

Ahmed is thought to still be in the UK; Jaigirdar is suspected to have gone to Bangladesh, where he has family connections.

Crimestoppers is offering a £10,000 reward to anyone whose tip leads to the arrest and conviction of the men responsible.
