Two people including the gunman are killed in a 'targeted' shooting at a Citibank campus near Tampa, Florida

A witness saw a vehicle crash into the cafeteria at Citibank's Brandon campus before gunfire erupted, with one victim found wounded and bleeding inside the building. Sheriff Chad Chronister confirmed the suspect is dead and described it as a targeted incident. The attacker was reportedly a vendor at the facility rather than a Citibank employee. Thousands of workers poured out of the four office buildings as SWAT teams cleared the complex room by room.

The campus employs thousands across four three-storey buildings in Tampa's Sabal Park development, with a daycare centre also on site.

Nearby Hillsborough College issued a lockdown order directing students and staff to remain indoors during the response.

One father endured an agonising hour unable to confirm his son — who had fled after hearing shots — was safe.
