Two RAF Fairford 'terror plot' suspects are re-arrested on suspicion of spying for Iran's intelligence service
Counter-terror chief Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor says it is 'highly likely that there is Iranian state involvement' in the plot against the US-used Gloucestershire airbase. The suspects, a 24-year-old Briton and a 25-year-old British-Iranian, are both from Westminster. They are held under Section 3 of the National Security Act 2023. Five other men remain on bail, and no one has been charged.
Petrol, masks and hooded clothing were found in three vans heading for the base on September 27.
The tip-off call to police reportedly came from one of the men INSIDE the vans.
The US pulled its B-1 bombers out of RAF Fairford after the plot.
