Two teenagers are among three people charged over an alleged plot to shoot up an Atlanta-area high school

Shane Keith Taylor, 17, of Metter, Georgia, and Michael Brandon Terry, 21, of Chatsworth, California, are both charged with conspiracy to commit murder alongside a third, unnamed juvenile Canton resident arrested on 20 October. Police say weapons, ammunition and electronic devices were seized during the investigation into the plot targeting Cherokee High School in Canton.

The FBI first alerted school district law enforcement to threatening social media posts on 19 October, triggering the investigation.

Terry is awaiting extradition to Georgia, while Taylor is already held at Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.

Canton Police Chief Marty Ferrell confirmed there is no ongoing threat to Cherokee High School, but the investigation remains active.
