Uber driver who ran over passenger who vomited in his car is jailed for five years but CLEARED of murder

Hayadulla Turkmani, 53, will spend only half a five-year sentence in custody, minus time already served on remand, after a jury at Basildon Crown Court cleared him of murder and manslaughter. He was convicted of causing the death by dangerous driving of Michael Ashton, 28. In the public gallery, people wept and cried 'No! No!' as the verdict was delivered. Judge Samantha Cohen described Turkmani as the 'aggressor' and said she was 'bound' by the jury.
Turkmani struck Ashton outside his Langdon Hills home and dragged him beneath the car.
Ashton's mother Jayne said the family is 'serving a life sentence'.
The judge said Turkmani couldn't resist a 'parting shot' after a row over cleaning the car.
