London-based payments company Zilch has started approaching investment banks about a possible IPO on the London Stock Exchange, with a listing targeted for the second half of 2027 or early 2028. Chief executive Philip Belamant has previously warned London must do more to attract listings, but London is reportedly now the favoured venue. The firm's revenue surged 93 per cent to £110.3m in its last financial year, and it hopes to be profitable before going public.
Zilch, founded in 2018, has maintained a $2bn valuation since a 2021 funding round, though the IPO may reportedly not achieve that price.
The listing would be a rare boost for the London Stock Exchange after years of thin IPO activity and the recent loss of Monzo to potential takeover talks with Nubank.
Zilch narrowed its losses by 79 per cent to £10.5m last year and acquired Lithuania's Fjord Bank in January to secure a European banking licence.
