Ukraine carries out the world's first drone airlift of a wounded soldier trapped in a minefield on the frontline

Konstantyn Vlasenko, callsign 'Kostya', of the 30th Separate Brigade was reportedly stranded for almost 500 days in a position Ukrainian forces could not reach. After a Russian drone wounded him earlier this year, he reportedly carried out partial self-amputations of both legs while waiting for rescue. The flight to safety took about an hour and 15 minutes. He is now in a stable condition.

Gurzuf Defence's heavy hexacopter, built to bomb Russian positions, was modified to carry a person.

Four brigades spent seven days planning it, using other drones to distract Russian forces.

Once buckled into the harness, Kostya told his comrades: 'That's it, we can take off.'
