Ukraine disputes Musk's claim that Kyiv's military used Starlink 'to kill people' after SpaceX throttled its frontline drones
Elon Musk, whose charge that Ukrainian forces broke Starlink rules to carry out drone strikes has been disputed by Kyiv advisers who say long-standing restrictions made offensive use impossible.Serhii Beskrestnov wrote that Elon Musk's claim was "very strange," given whitelists blocking offensive use had been in place since February.
Zelensky adviser Serhii Beskrestnov said it was 'very strange' that Elon Musk did not know the limits already placed on Starlink in Ukraine. He said drones on the civilian network were capped at 70-90km/h and could not work over Russian territory. Drone supplier Serhii Sternenko said Musk's claim was 'not true'. Russia meanwhile fired nearly 2,300 attack drones at Ukraine in a week.
Musk said the 'loophole' was closed last week and blasted 'evil warmongers'.
Ukraine's drones were throttled for 10 days until speeds returned on Saturday.
Musk warned the Ukrainian front line would 'collapse immediately' without Starlink.
