Ukraine halts Russian infiltration of Kupiansk after its troops crept nine miles through gas pipelines to ambush Putin's forces

Zelensky revealed that Ukrainian troops crawled more than 15 kilometres through narrow, muddy underground gas pipelines into the Kupiansk sector before emerging to eliminate 100 Russian soldiers and take more than 30 prisoner. Russia had first exploited the same pipeline network to infiltrate the city's northern districts, where several dozen troops established footholds in intact residential buildings before the operation cut off their supply route.
Spokesman Viktor Trehubov confirmed no further Russian infiltrations towards Kupiansk have been recorded since Operation Veles disabled the pipeline route.
Russia's Defence Ministry separately claimed to have captured Barylivka in Sumy region, but Ukraine's 8th Army Corps rejected the claim, insisting the settlement remains under Ukrainian control.
Ukraine also struck a Tor-M2 missile system in Kursk region and an electronic warfare station in Bryansk, hitting Russian military infrastructure across the border.
