Ukraine's Zelensky demands tougher sanctions and warns of more strikes after a Russian drone kills 14 at a Dnipro station
Volodymyr Zelensky swiftly appealed to the United States to take stronger action in response to the attack.
A Russian jet-powered drone struck a crowded platform at Dnipro railway station on Thursday morning while passengers were waiting to board train No. 866 for Zaporizhzhia, killing 14 people and wounding at least 14 more. Among four people left in a serious condition was an 11-year-old boy. European leaders condemned the attack in forceful terms, with EU Council President António Costa calling the strikes "cruel and devastating" and urging stronger measures against Russia.
Russian forces struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles the same evening, hitting warehouses and starting a fire, Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed.
Zelensky directly linked the attack to Trump's deal with Putin easing sanctions, asking how many strikes had occurred since Russian oligarchs and energy exports were relieved of pressure.
British components were found inside Russian suicide drones used in the daily strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure, raising fresh questions for London.
