Ukraine strikes a Russian chemical plant making rocket fuel in Rostov with drones and Neptune missiles, setting a warehouse ablaze

The Kamensky plant in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, just 15 kilometres from the Ukrainian border, produces solid rocket propellant essential for Russia's Uragan, Smerch and Tornado-S multiple-launch rocket systems. The strike confirmed a warehouse fire and damaged four production workshops, degrading Russia's ability to bombard Ukrainian towns with MLRS salvos. Ukrainian naval Neptune coastal missile systems were deployed in a land-attack role alongside drone units in a joint overnight operation.

The plant is sanctioned by the EU, UK and US for its direct role in fuelling Russia's war machine.

Ukraine also hit four Russian military logistics depots in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk in the same overnight operation.

The attack came despite reported US pressure on Kyiv to pause strikes on Russian energy and industrial targets ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
