Ukrainian drones fell from the sky after Elon Musk throttled their military satellite link, US officials say
Elon Musk's October 14 speed cap on Starlink left some Ukrainian strike and interceptor drones unable to connect, as Volodymyr Zelensky warned "people will die.Donald Trump, pictured with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, as Rubio insisted the Starlink throttling that left Ukrainian drones useless was "a private company" decision.
A Ukrainian commander identified only as Oleh said dozens of armed drones lost their feeds mid-flight, leaving his units out more than $1 million in weaponry. He suspended nearly all strike operations for three days. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has since said decisions about Starlink access rest with Musk, not the White House — even though the order is reported to have originated there.
Musk had claimed any limits were 'ultimately POTUS', pointing the finger at Trump.
President Donald Trump said: 'It wasn't me. And I don't think it was Elon.'
Drones were reportedly capped at roughly 100mph, and Ukrainian strikes dropped sharply from October 14.
