Ukrainian drones hit an oil refinery in Russia's Yaroslavl, injuring two, as Moscow claims it shot down 856 overnight
Fires light the night sky over Yaroslavl as Ukrainian drones struck the city's oil refinery, one of at least three Russian refineries hit since Friday despite Donald Trump's personal requests to spare such sites.
Ukraine struck three Russian oil refineries in three days, defying repeated demands from President Trump that Kyiv halt attacks on Russian energy infrastructure. The Yaroslavl refinery hit overnight was damaged and two workers were injured, while fires were also reported at a Samara crude oil pumping station after a separate drone strike.
Ukraine has targeted Russian oil facilities at Novokuibyshevsk and in the Samara region since Friday, in a sustained campaign Trump has explicitly opposed.
The strikes pile fresh tension on Trump's already fraught relationship with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has publicly ignored the White House's ceasefire pressure.
