The Slavneft-YANOS refinery in Yaroslavl — one of Russia's five largest oil-processing facilities, with an annual capacity of roughly 15 million metric tons — was left ablaze after Ukrainian drones struck in the early hours of Tuesday, with footage showing multiple separate fire zones spreading across the complex. Two people were injured in the attack, which Yaroslavl governor Mikhail Yevrayev acknowledged had damaged refinery infrastructure despite air-defence efforts.

If Moscow's count of 124 drones on Yaroslavl alone is accurate, it is the largest single drone raid on the refinery in 2026.

Russia claims it downed 856 Ukrainian drones in total overnight — an extraordinary overnight barrage across the whole country.
