Ukrainian girl, 17, is arrested on suspicion of helping Russia poison soldiers with methadone after two died
Police in Zhytomyr say the teenager contacted soldiers through Telegram and sent them packages of 'free drugs'. Those who received them were told to swallow the capsules on camera, unaware that each one held enough methadone to kill them. She allegedly ran the scheme at the direction of a Russian handler in exchange for at least 5,000 hryvnias ($111). Locating other recipients, police say, 'prevented four more murders'.
Investigators suspect her of aiding and abetting the premeditated murder of two people.
A guilty verdict could bring up to 15 years in jail.
Police warned Russia aims 'to kill our people and destabilise the situation within the country'.
