Ukrainians accuse US of 'collusion with Putin' after a Russian drone killed a mother and her baby in a park

Primary school teacher Inna Mariukhna and her one-year-old daughter Angelina were among six people killed when a Russian Shahed drone struck Nova Vodolaha's central park in Kharkiv region on Monday. Angelina died strapped into her pram; her mother succumbed to her injuries later in hospital. Ukrainians say Washington has weakened their air defences by curbing drone interceptors and withholding intelligence. President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Ukraine's stock of Patriot interceptors is running dangerously low.

An 11-year-old girl also died, and 15 people were hurt, including seven children.

Zelensky called the strike 'a pure atrocity' and urged the US to keep sanctions on Russia.

UN monitors recorded 328 civilian deaths in September, up 85% on the same month last year.
