Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for Michigan's US Senate seat, told a 2018 gubernatorial forum audience 'Muslims definitely hate you' while pushing back at Republican Patrick Colbeck's accusations of Muslim Brotherhood ties. Colbeck pressed El-Sayed over his former role as vice president of the Muslim Students Association at the University of Michigan. The unearthed footage has resurfaced amid El-Sayed's 2026 Senate campaign. Vice President JD Vance has also attacked El-Sayed over his remarks on Sharia law.
