Hassan Kariem, 42, was thrown from his seat on the Goliath coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia on Monday and struck the ride's frame. The 200ft ride stays shut indefinitely while investigators work. At Friday's Halloween reopening, normally popular rides had no queues and much of the park sat empty. 'We maybe woulda not come but they didn't give us a refund,' one visitor said.

Kariem, a father-of-two, was celebrating his fiancée's niece's 13th birthday.

Nine other Bolliger & Mabillard rides at Six Flags-run parks were paused after his death.

Separately, Ohio's Millennium Force coaster at Cedar Point shut after a bracket fell into a guest area.
