Unions are already 'bombarding' firms with access demands BEFORE Rayner's workers' rights law comes into force on Friday

From 30 October, any business with more than 20 workers can be asked to let a union in, and bosses cannot simply refuse. Shadow Chancellor Andrew Griffith said the law 'was written by the trade unions, for the trade unions'. Firms that get access wrong will face penalties of up to £75,000, rising to £150,000 for a second breach. Just 2 per cent of employers say they are fully ready.
Littler lawyer Chris Coombes says several unions are already sending voluntary access requests.
Union meetings must stay private, so bosses cannot attend, record or listen in.
