US Air Force commando dies after falling from Alamodome rafters during a pre-game rappelling display at a Texas football game
The airman lost control and slid down the line in front of 23,297 fans at UTSA's Salute to Armed Forces and Veterans game against Navy. He was one of four servicemen from the 6th Combat Training Squadron, Detachment 2, based at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. Medics worked on him on the turf for around 10 minutes before he died in hospital.
Witness Adrian Corey said the band stopped and 'everybody was dead silent'.
Kick-off was held up by just 10 minutes after the fall.
UTSA coach Jeff Traylor called the accident 'heartbreaking' and 'tragic'.
