US ambassador Mike Huckabee demands arrests after masked Israeli settlers beat an American photographer and attacked European diplomats in the West Bank
Heidi Levine, a 63-year-old Washington Post photographer, says between 25 and 50 settlers kicked her for about ten minutes on Friday, leaving her with a broken rib. Israeli President Isaac Herzog phoned her personally to apologise. A day later, masked settlers confronted Belgian, French and Polish envoys in the Christian village of Taybeh. France has now demanded Israel 'stop these acts of terror'.
French mayor Bernard Baudoux says he was 'thrown to the ground' while harvesting olives.
Huckabee called the attack on Levine a 'despicable act of terror carried out by masked cowards'.
Netanyahu's office suggested the attack on the diplomats was a 'coordinated campaign to smear Israel'.
