US and China detail the $30 billion tariff cut product list after Trump-Xi Washington summit deal

Washington and Beijing have published the specific goods covered by their landmark $30 billion tariff reduction agreement, reached after a three-day Trump-Xi summit in Washington. American agricultural products, fish and seafood, logs, cosmetics and medical devices are to receive favourable tariff treatment in China, while US consumers are to see lower duties on Chinese-made small appliances, toys, holiday decorations and children's car seats. The deal was struck through the newly established US-China Board of Trade, first proposed during Trump's visit to China in May.

China is to cut tariffs on US farm goods across the board, but soybeans — a politically sensitive American export — are excluded from the deal.

Beijing says the trade truce extension creates space to advance further talks, signalling both sides expect the framework to widen beyond the initial $30 billion in non-sensitive goods.

US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer says final tariff rates were hammered out over weeks of negotiations, with final details released Monday after he told CNBC more specifics were coming.
