US Attorney General Blanche won't rule out blocking midterm certification in a 'doomsday scenario' 12 days before the vote

Todd Blanche told reporters in Norfolk, Virginia, on Thursday: 'Of course there are scenarios we could all come up with hypothetically.' He insisted the Justice Department has no intention to 'improperly interfere' with state certification. 'Am I planning my days around the election to be somewhere to not certify? Of course not,' he said. The DOJ intends to deploy 1,000 election monitors across polling places in all 50 states.

Democratic leaders sued Trump and the DOJ on Tuesday, alleging 'threats and intimidation'.

The DOJ is suing California and Los Angeles over 20,000 ballots flagged as suspected noncitizen votes.

Blanche has accused Democrats of 'fearmongering' over claims the DOJ is out to intimidate voters.
