US card giant American Express is to cut 3,500 jobs while it RAISES its 2026 profit forecast

The American Express chief executive says the company will shed 5% of its total workforce. The cuts come despite a jump in profits and the success of its $895 Platinum Card. Affluent customers are still spending heavily.

The job losses are reportedly the latest round of AI-driven layoffs.
