Mamdani-backed US congressional candidate Brad Lander is detained by Israeli forces with rabbis at a West Bank olive harvest

About 80 American, Israeli and British volunteers were rounded up near Nahalin, outside Bethlehem, including Israel's former deputy attorney general. Israeli authorities said the group had entered a closed military zone. Lander has since been released, but the others remain at a police station. Foreign nationals among them are expected to be moved to a military base.
Lander posted from a police bus: 'Harvesting olives isn't a crime under any law I know.'
Rabbi Jill Jacobs was held too, and her group says it could not have known about the zone.
Lander, the NY-10 nominee, ousted pro-Israel Democrat Dan Goldman in this year's primary.
