An F-16 like those NORAD has used in more than 60 intercepts around Palm Beach since Donald Trump returned to office.The no-fly zone above Mar-a-Lago, where a civilian pilot strayed on Saturday before a NORAD F-16 used a "headbutt manoeuvre" to grab the aircraft's attention and force it to leave.
A civilian pilot strayed into the no-fly zone over President Donald Trump's Palm Beach resort at around 12:20pm on Saturday. A NORAD fighter flew close in front of the aircraft to grab the pilot's attention, and the plane then made radio contact and left the area. NORAD warned the unnamed pilot could face federal enforcement action on landing. Trump and Melania Trump cast early midterm ballots in West Palm Beach that afternoon.
NORAD has intercepted more than 60 aircraft around Palm Beach since Trump returned to office.
A NORAD spokesperson admitted of the tally: 'I would say that's a lot.'
Avenger air defence missile systems have been deployed around Mar-a-Lago at the Secret Service's request.
