Patrick Lynch, 42, whose six-year-old daughter Caroline had been living with Williams syndrome, a rare genetic condition affecting development and the heart.
Patrick Lynch, 42, hurled his eight-year-old son James and six-year-old daughter Caroline from the roof of a municipal parking garage in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, before leaping to his own death on Tuesday afternoon. First responders reached all three lying unresponsive in the street and attempted CPR, but a medical examiner declared them dead at the scene.
Caroline had been living with Williams syndrome, a rare genetic condition affecting development and the heart, as her mother disclosed in a 2024 fundraiser.
Two nearby elementary schools and a day care shut their doors on Wednesday following the deaths, with the police chief cautioning that there would be 'a significant amount of trauma' for the community.
Allegheny County's Homicide Unit is heading the investigation and has confirmed there is no ongoing danger to the public.
