US judge rules the Macrons cannot sue Candace Owens personally but lets their case against her companies continue

A Delaware judge has ruled that Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron cannot personally sue right-wing podcaster Candace Owens, finding his court lacks jurisdiction over her because she lives in Tennessee. Their lawsuit can continue against her two Delaware-registered companies, Candace Owens LLC and Georgetom Inc., with the judge deferring a final ruling on dismissal pending further argument on French defamation law.
The Macrons sued Owens in July, accusing her of a lie-filled 'campaign of global humiliation', including the claim that Brigitte was born a man named Jean-Michel Trogneux.
Owens called the case 'one of the grossest legal overreaches by a foreign government leader in human history' in a social media post after the ruling.
The judge has yet to rule on whether French defamation law and statutes of limitation will ultimately allow the companies case to survive.
