US woman is charged with killing grandfather, 66, in Utah crash after 'watching porn' at the wheel, police say

Police obtained a warrant to search Christine Chao's phone and found she had accessed a porn site around 90 seconds before the June 12 crash on I-15 in Juab County. The 44-year-old Californian is alleged to have steered her SUV into slowing traffic at a roadworks zone, leaving no brake marks. Scott LaVar Lichfield, 66, of Fillmore, was riding in the back seat and died after being airlifted to hospital. Chao is due in court on November 17.

Chao allegedly 'told officers she was at fault' moments after the crash.

She faces a second-degree felony charge of text messaging or email automobile homicide.

Lichfield's family remembered him as a 'very loved gentle soul' who played Santa at Christmas.
