US workers on horseback round up cows after a lorry carrying up to 130 plunges off a Kansas City overpass
Between 45 and 60 cattle were killed when the trailer overturned and fell from the westbound I-70 curve onto a car shortly before 3am on Sunday. Kansas City Police Sgt. Phil DiMartino said dozens of survivors fled the scene, causing further crashes. Both drivers suffered minor injuries. By Sunday afternoon police believed every cow had been accounted for.
City authorities launched drones to track the runaway cattle before the riders arrived.
Some cows walked several miles before they were captured, a fire chief said.
'More difficult has been getting the animals who did not survive,' Michael Hopkins said.
