Kylie Arellano, now 17, was recovered by Oregon police on Sunday after FBI Salt Lake City provided the breakthrough lead, ending a 500-day nationwide hunt that had stretched across multiple US states and several other countries. The man found with her was identified as Adam Harmel, 39, who a law enforcement source says allegedly made contact with the then-15-year-old via Snapchat before she vanished from her family's Garden City, Utah home on 29 May 2025. Her mother Stephanie Coleman posted on Instagram: 'I brought you home baby girl!'

FBI Director Kash Patel warned: 'To anyone using gore groups to target and exploit children — the FBI and our partners are coming for you.'

Investigators had previously served search warrants questioning Coleman over an abuse allegation and missing text messages she claimed to have had with her daughter.
