Vance is branded 'tone deaf' for answering a young Republican's US housing question with a joke about a senator's 'a**'

Vice President JD Vance, 42, drew a wave of online mockery after a Fox News town hall in Fort Worth, Texas, where his opening response to a serious affordability question from a young supporter was a quip about Ohio Senator Jon Husted's backside. The clip had amassed over 6.9 million views on X by Friday. Vance did eventually concede that Republicans 'don't pay enough attention to the affordability problems affecting young people.'
Kate White, a Texas Christian University student and vice president of her Turning Point USA chapter, asked Vance how young Americans could afford a $415,000 average home while being urged to marry and have children young.
Former Trump White House deputy press secretary Sarah Matthews wrote: 'I genuinely cannot believe this is a real exchange between a voter and the Vice President of the United States.'
When Vance finally addressed housing costs, he blamed undocumented migrants and Wall Street investors snapping up properties for driving prices higher, even as mortgage rates held above 7 per cent.
