Vanessa Feltz reveals she ate nothing and drank nothing before weigh-ins on 'horrific' Celebrity Fit Club

Vanessa Feltz, 64, has admitted she went a full day without food or water before every public weigh-in on ITV's Celebrity Fit Club in 2004, then endured an intense fitness session on an empty stomach. The presenter told Andrew Gold's Heretics podcast that host Dale Winton would announce contestants' weights to the nation, leaving her desperate to show progress at any cost. Any pounds shed vanished the moment she ate or drank something afterwards. She described the experience as 'horrific, absolutely horrific'.
The cruel irony: the two pounds Winton 'celebrated with the nation' were back on within hours of Feltz eating a sandwich.
Public scrutiny became so extreme that a stranger screamed 'Put it down!' at her from a passing van when she took a bite of an apple.
Feltz eventually had gastric bypass surgery in 2019, following decades of weight that repeatedly dropped and climbed back up again.
