Video shows a masked US immigration agent shoving a dog walker into a bush and pointing a gun at his face in Los Angeles
Masked ICE agents who shoved a dog walker into a bush and pressed a pistol to his face released him without arrest after he picked up a dropped spray canister during the detention of Angel Luis Gonzalez Lobo, 27, on Friday.
Angel Luis Gonzalez Lobo, 27, a Venezuelan national, was the man dragged screaming along the ground by masked ICE agents near the Ivy at NOHO apartments on Otsego Street at around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, his family told reporters. As agents struggled to load him into an unmarked SUV, a passing dog walker picked up a dropped spray canister, at which point a second agent rushed him, shoved him into a bush and pressed a pistol inches from his face before releasing him. Witness Damari Butler, who filmed the confrontation from his balcony, said: 'At that point, I thought that was the end for him.'
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass called the footage 'unacceptable' and referred it to the Attorney General's Office for investigation.
Law enforcement experts who reviewed the video said agents may have had grounds to draw their weapon but could not justify pointing it directly at the bystander's face.
The dog walker screamed 'What the f*** is wrong with you?' after being released, as four agents dragged the handcuffed detainee away.
