Fabian Pawlowski, a serial robber who prowled the London Underground violently snatching phones from passengers, has been jailed for four and a half years. He deliberately singled out travellers for the handsets they carried, striking at stations across the network in a cluster of repeat attacks: violent robberies, not opportunistic pickpocketing.

'A violent robber who targeted victims for their phones,' British Transport Police said of Pawlowski.

Fuller details of the court result were published on the British Transport Police website.

It was the spate of repeat offences that prompted the detective-led inquiry and his eventual conviction.
