Footage from inside Masala Bazaar in Chadwell Heath, east London, has gone viral after showing shoppers appearing to form gender-segregated lines during the store's third anniversary celebrations in August. The clip, posted to TikTok on September 28, was recorded on August 28 during a 'power hour' giveaway of free vegetable oil and other goods. Store manager Zayuber reportedly said the separation was entirely spontaneous, driven by the crowd itself rather than any instruction from staff. Social media users have speculated the queuing pattern reflects the cultural norms of the local community.

No signage directed shoppers to queue by sex — a colleague said two lines formed simply to handle the crush more efficiently.

Online commentators have claimed English shoppers were 'forced to obey the rules of Islamist migrants in their own country', though no evidence of enforcement has emerged.
