Wardley steps into the ring again this weekend to avenge his bloody stoppage defeat to Dubois
Fabio Wardley has triggered his rematch clause just five months after Daniel Dubois stopped him in the eleventh round of a brutal contest that left Wardley with a broken nose and his right eye closed. Former world champion George Groves warns that Wardley must build on his early success from the first fight rather than let excessive caution undermine him again. Derek Chisora has also weighed in, outlining what Wardley needs to change if he is to turn the tables on Saturday night.
In May, Dubois put Wardley on the canvas after just 10 seconds before battering him into a bloodied, one-eyed state by the eleventh round.
Wardley had sent Dubois down early in their first meeting but was unable to press that knockdown into a stoppage.
Wardley's only previous defeat was followed by a first-round jaw-breaking win over Frazer Clarke, demonstrating his capacity to bounce back.
