Wes Streeting urges Britons to stockpile three days of food, water and cash for cyber attacks and hostile-state sabotage

Andy Burnham's government quietly published the 'Be Ready' checklist this afternoon, months after Keir Starmer's administration first said it was coming. It tells households to keep a wind-up or battery radio and a power pack in case the electricity fails. The 'three days of disruption' idea is borrowed from France, Ireland and the Netherlands. Streeting gave his warning at a new tank gun barrel factory in Telford.

Thirty-two government websites have gone dark while a critical PHP security flaw is fixed.

Streeting insisted 'everyone needs to do their bit', with radio and social media adverts to follow.

Army chief Sir Roly Walker and MI5's Sir Ken McCallum have issued similar warnings on preparedness.
