The 72-year-old resident allegedly stabbed his first victim in the neck from his wheelchair in the canteen of St Vitus-Stift in Olfen, near Dortmund, on Friday evening. Two more residents, aged 81 and 83, were wounded. He then went back to his room and surrendered to police without resistance. He is being held under police guard in a psychiatric hospital and is due before a judge today.
