Andrew Feinberg had pressed President Donald Trump and JD Vance on a new $25 million fraud whistleblower scheme, pointing out that the False Claims Act already rewards people who expose fraud. Trump warned him to 'be careful' and ordered him to be quiet. Hours later, an unsigned press office email removed him from Thursday's trip to Sioux City, Iowa. The White House Correspondents' Association called it retaliation.

Vance branded Feinberg an 'imbecile' on his official government account.

The White House rapid-response account used an offensive slur to describe him.

Feinberg on the ban: 'he can't silence me'.
