White House pulls Independent reporter from Trump's Iowa trip after Oval Office clash, sparking a 'retaliation' row
Donald Trump, with reporter Andrew Feinberg at the Oval Office, after calling him a "sick person" — Feinberg says he is in "perfect health" and will be "right back at it tomorrow.
Andrew Feinberg was informed he would 'not be the print pooler' on Thursday's Air Force One flight, a reversal made days after his place had been confirmed. Earlier in the week Trump had called him a 'sick person' in response to questions about his golf courses. JD Vance labelled Feinberg an 'imbecile' on X. The White House maintains that no journalist has a 'constitutional right' to board Air Force One.
WHCA chief Jacqui Heinrich described the move as clear 'retaliation'.
The Independent joins at least two other outlets excluded from Air Force One in recent weeks, making it the third such removal.
Reports suggest Trump is weighing up plans to replace the White House briefing room with a swimming pool.
