'Who cares?': Tucker Carlson questions why Britain fought Hitler — only for Rees-Mogg to tell him he is 'verging on defending' the Nazi leader

Tucker Carlson told Jacob Rees-Mogg he "never understood why fight the Second World War in the first place," arguing Britain had "nothing to do" with Hitler's invasion of Poland and dismissed the prospect of speaking German with "Who cares?" Rees-Mogg, visibly stunned, told Carlson he was "verging on defending Hitler," prompting the commentator to quip "I guess I'm just a secret Nazi" before insisting he was not. Senator Ted Cruz broke with Carlson publicly, posting that the world "would be much worse off if the Nazis had won" and adding: "This is not complicated."
Carlson claimed Hitler "repeatedly said he did not want to go to war with the UK" and that Nazi Germany's case for invading Poland was, "by the way, true."
Rees-Mogg pushed back firmly, calling World War II "the classic good versus evil" and warning Germany would "eventually have invaded us."
Carlson previously described Holocaust revisionist Darryl Cooper as "the best and most popular historian in the United States" and has also hosted white nationalist Nick Fuentes.
