'Wife, 27, drained husband's 401k for Great Wolf Lodge trip before allegedly stabbing him and son, 3, to death'

Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, allegedly stabbed her husband Charles, 36, and their three-year-old son Tristan to death in room 2030 of the Great Wolf Lodge resort in Scotrun, Pennsylvania on Monday. Her stepmom April Thetga believes the killings were planned weeks in advance, after learning Harrison had brought the murder weapons — kitchen knives from her own home — to the resort. Harrison then called 911 asking for help finding a vein to stab in her own neck, telling the operator: 'My husband and son are already gone in the bed in the living room.'

Harrison had secretly drained Charles's 401k to fund the family's three-week stay at the resort, which can cost more than $600 a night.

'Suicidal, not stupid,' Harrison told officers who found her at the doorway with slashed wrists and puncture wounds to her neck.

In the ambulance, Harrison said: 'I was supposed to have my happy family — that's what I envisioned since I was a child.'
