Woman, 22, died from head injuries after 'skydiving incident' at Langar Airfield, inquest hears

Madeleine Rachel Trask, a parachute packer who had worked at Skydive Langar for three and a half years, died at Langar Airfield in Nottinghamshire on 5 July after a skydiving incident left her with fatal head injuries. An inquest opened at Nottingham Council House on Thursday heard she was recovered from an adjacent field and died at the scene. Assistant coroner Karen Boyle offered her condolences to the family and adjourned the inquest, with no return date yet set.
Trask, a former president of the University of Nottingham's Skydiving club, had attended Berkhamsted School in Hertfordshire.
Skydive Langar said at the time that the fatal incident involved an 'experienced skydiver'; when approached over the inquest opening, the company gave no comment.
Langar Airfield is the UK's busiest civilian skydiving centre, facilitating more than 50,000 jumps a year.
