Woman, 27, is remanded in custody after police officer shot at Nottingham bus stop, court hears

Aisha Zaman appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court, where prosecutor Mairin Long alleged she had taken a shotgun from a man and tucked it inside her jacket before the weapon dropped and discharged as PC Lee Lane approached a bus stop on Angel Row. Her solicitor stressed she faces no charge over the discharge or the injury. PC Lane has had several surgeries.

Zaman is charged with possessing an adapted shotgun with intent and was remanded in custody.

Police commissioner Gary Godden says the PC's injuries are 'most likely to be life-altering'.
